It is really complicated. The simple calculations listed below based on a fixed addition from your last menstrual period. This is how to calculate your due day. The due month is: your LMP month + 9. The due date is: your LMP date plus 7. For example, if your LMP was 3/10/95: 3 + 9 = 12 (Dec), 10 + 7 = 17 (17th day). If the added month exceeds 12, then you subtract 12. For example, if you LMP was 6/20/95, the month will be (6 + 9) - 12 = 3 (March), and the date will be 20 + 7 = 27, so your due date will be 3/27/96. There are lots of methods and calculators out there but their accuracy is limited. I was always taught -3 +7, if your LMP was 10/11 you -3m= 7/11 and add 7d= 7/18. You can always use an on-line due date calculator. that is: www.timestimator.com Maybe I don't get it but what is all the maths above? Why would you do all this if someone else would do it for you?

Due date(some physicians use the term Expected Date of Delivery-EDD or Expected date of confinement-EDC) is calculated 40 weeks (9 month and 7 day)from the first day of your last menstrual cycle(it works only if your cycle is regular i.e 28 days).Pregnancy,on average, lasts nine months and seven days from conception. If you positively know your conception date, you can simply add nine months and seven days to it,and you will get your pregnancy due date. For example take Jan 1 as your first day of the last normal menstrual cycle.Add seven days to that number, and you get the number 8.Add nine months, and you get October. The expected due date of this pregnancy is October 8.

Visit the site http://pregnancy.about.com/cs/pregnancycalendar/l/blpregcalc.htm where you can find the due date calculator. Generally during your first visit to the doctor for confirmation of preganancy, the doctor herself would inform you the due dates, or during your first ultrasound the due dates would also be informed. But the general trend is a boy would be born after the due date, a girl would be born if delivery takes place before the due date. Take care don't worry about the dates.
