Flu Vaccines During Pregancy
|
I am 12 weeks pregnant and am thinking about getting my yearly flu vaccination. In the past, I have had some flu symptoms after receiving the vaccine. Will it hurt my baby if I get sick after my vaccination?

Monday 15th of February 2010 04:47:08 PM as I know the pregnant women can not take this vaccin.it is dangerous for them especially for the baby.
it is true that this flu is very dangerous for both mother and kid, but the effect of vaccin on baby could be the same as being affected by the flue.
you need to consult a doctor for this important issue!
goodd luck!

Tuesday 16th of February 2010 08:12:05 PM Are you talking about the H1N1 vaccine or the regular seasonal vaccine? It wonft hurt your baby. The symptoms after the vaccine are normal and doctors are aware of that. They wouldnft inject it to pregnant women if they knew there would be side effects. If you continuously take your vitamins and milk, your baby should be fine. I had shots like anti-tetanus and flu and my baby went out healthy and fine.

Tuesday 16th of February 2010 10:47:23 PM To be honest I am not sure. Have you checked with your GP or midwife to see what their recommendation would be on this? Your body and immune system are different now your are pregnant. I do not know if it would react in the same way to a flu vaccination shot as before.

Wednesday 17th of February 2010 06:26:41 AM Taking a flu vaccination while you are pregnant may be a positive thing as this will protect your baby during the period it is too small to be given the vaccination direclty. Mother's who took the flu vaccinaiton while pregnant were in fact protecting their unborn babies from the risk later on.

Wednesday 17th of February 2010 06:31:41 AM Pregnancy is a wonderful gift that took nature gave us. Our baby is more protected within our belly that any of us out here. We often think that everything we feel they also feel, but in this case they are more safe and secure than we are. However, I leave my advice for talking to your doctor's assistant, before taking a flu shot, to make sure that the compounds do not interfere with the baby.

Tuesday 2nd of March 2010 04:31:09 AM Flu vaccination is just okay as several doctors agree. Added stress on heart and lungs during pregnancy and may influence your immune system and likewise brings you to miscarriage or premature labor or other complications. So having these shots are basically preventions of all these. And no, it will not affect your baby.
