Delivery On Due Date
|
My doctor just told me that my due date is my birthday. I'm so excited! I think that is about the coolest thing ever. My question is, how often do babies actually come on their due date?

Friday 5th of March 2010 11:32:07 PM Babies don't usually come on the exact due date that doctors gave. If it is your first baby, usually the first pregnancy does not follow dates. Some babies comes out one week earlier, and some comes out one week later. It depends on how you handle your body during pregnancy.

Friday 12th of March 2010 06:44:30 AM not so often as long as you already have booked that day as the day you will give birth. In my case my doctor got exactly the point of my due date, he said you will give birth at 4th july, and i did, but most of all my friends that already are mommies they have not gave birth in the due date. so based on what i have seem its not so sure about the due date.

Tuesday 16th of March 2010 12:27:58 PM Pregnancy due dates are an estimate of when your baby will make his or her appearance in this world. The truth is only five percent of women deliver on their official “due date.”
The Medical Science says that:
"A typical gestation for a pregnancy is somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. Once a woman carries her baby to 37 weeks doctors consider her full-term. Just because a woman is full-term however, doesn’t mean her baby is ready to make his or her appearance in the world. Most first time moms quickly learn that often pregnancies extend to 41 weeks or more".
One reason the due date may be hard to predict is because one never knows how quickly a baby will grow in the womb.
