Exercise During Pregnancy
I like to exercise and stay fit. I have a pretty rigorous work-out routine that I follow daily. Can I continue to do my usual routine throughout my pregnancy or do I have to stop?

There are basic exercises for pregnant women which will help you gain more strength and be more flexible. Your rigorous work-out routine would unlikely fit into your condition as it may affect the growth in your tummy. For instance sit-up exercise in your regular routine may be entirely different as compared to the basic exercise for pregnant women. This is something which has to be dealt properly in order to not hurt your baby. But definitely you need not stop doing exercise, it's just a matter of changing the routine.

Exercise during pregnancy is actually very much encouraged. Though as your pregnancy progresses, it is not advisable to be having such a rigorous routine. Swimming is the best exercise you can do while pregnant. There are also several other options you can take if swimming isn't your cup of tea for workouts. Pregnancy yoga is out there. A good way to work out and interact with other to-be moms as well.

You need not to stop but you also don't need to continue with your usual rigorous work-out. Gradual exercise is okay, too much exercise may be bad for your baby and may lead to miscarriage.A one hour brisk walk or jog in a treadmill will be okay and a few dumbell lifting too. Exercise is good for the lungs but don not over do it

Plan a new set of exercise good for pregnancy. If you use your usual rigorous program it can hurt you and your tummy. Just think of this way, even if you try to stay fit youfll get fat at the last trimester because you cannot avoid it. You need to continue exercise (pregnancy exercise) until your delivery because it can help you in your flexibility and breathing.

I guess it depends on what type of excercise you do. Skip too much jumping and contact sports but running, swimming or simply walking will help you built up enough energy for the birth. I would check it with your midwife or gyna but I am sure they will put you on 'rest' if needed for you or the baby.
