What Is Spontaneous Abortion?

I was looking around and I found a website that kept using the term "spontaneous abortion". It sounds awful. They kept using it as if it was a common pregnancy term. I've never heard of such a thing. What is spontaneous abortion?

A miscarriage is the spontaneous ending of a pregnancy before the twentieth week. The medical term for miscarriage. About 20% of all pregnancies end in abortion during the first 16 weeks. Many occur within 10 weeks. Some women miscarry even before they know they are pregnant, a delay in menstruation may be the only symptom.

a spontaneous abortion is what is usually known as a miscarriage and that can happen between the 1st until the 22th week of gestation, usually the causes are multiplications abnormal chromosomes of the fetus or cervical problems presented by the pregnant. and this such thing is a normal risks that can happens to any pregnant woman.

th medical dictionary says that "Ending of a pregnancy when fetus will grow sufficiently to survive outside the uterus. Loss of a fetus at a later stage is termed premature stillbirth. Abortion may be natural or deliberate" .
or medically it is defined as
"Spontaneous abortion is noninduced embryonic or fetal death or passage of products of conception before the 20th wk of pregnancy."
