Baby's Position Causing Terrible Pregnancy Back Pain
|
I am 38 weeks and I am having a terrible time with pregnancy back pain. I think that the problem is the way she is laying, so I don't know what to do. Laying down, sitting, standing...nothing is comfortable. Is there anything that I can do for pregnancy back pain?

Monday 15th of March 2010 06:21:59 AM Use flat shoes and shoes that have a good arch support. High heeled shoes can cause back pain.
To avoid back pain when you are sleeping prefer to sleep on one side.preferably on your left side. keep your knees and hips bent while sleeping. place a pillow between your knees, and another under your belly for support. You may also have a pregnancy pillow. There are a wide variety of pillows available in the market that can help in curing back discomfort.
Use warm slightly hot which is easily bearable water to bath and also add some salt in it, it relaxed you & soothes to calm.
Other you can also adopt some excercise & diet to avoid this pain.
But it remains just by these you can reduce as feels better for some time.
It goes after when you gave birth till you just try to reduce.:)

Wednesday 17th of March 2010 04:05:45 PM As you are already 38 weeks you are nearing the end so you only need to hang in there a little while longer. I know the time is probably dragging now, but soon you will have your little bundle of joy in your arms. In the mean time try a warm wheat bag, a warm bath or you can hire a tens machine froma physiotherapist.

MBW Friday 19th of February 2010 03:29:38 PM I sympathize! I don't know how you are carrying (high or low), but I carried my son very high and experienced the same pain you are describing. It felt as though my ribs were being separated and my back was going to implode!
Have you attended birthing classes and/or practiced using a birthing ball or balancing ball? Try sitting on one of these and gently rolling back and forth to encourage the baby to move off your back. Another good technique is to get down on all fours and lean on the ball, resting your weight on it and let gravity do its thing! You see, the pain you're experiencing comes from the baby lying directly against your back. So, avoid sleeping or lying on your back. Buy a body pillow (balance balls and body pillows are inexpensive and available at any major store) and be sure to sleep on your side. You will also find that putting the pillow between your legs will help take the stress of the extra weight you’re carrying off your other body pressure points, giving you added relief!
