Alcohol In Early Pregnancy
I just found out that I am pregnant. By the ultrasound, my doctor says that I am already 8 weeks along. I wasn't trying to get pregnant and had no idea that I was. 2 weeks ago I had a few drinks at a party. Could I have hurt my baby?

A few drinks a couple of weeks ago is not going to harm your baby; only chronic use of alcohol and/or other substances would pose a threat to your baby.

usually babies are not affect for one plus glas of drinks.but the ppregnancy could be influenced byt the alchool drunk into heavy manner. I am sure it is not the case here. As about your drinks definitely won't affect the pregnancy and not the baby. i remember I drunk a lot in the night (4-5 glasses of wine) I have conceived my second baby.and the baby is fine, healthy and happy!

That's okay. A few drinks wouldn't really hurt your baby. I remember that I was drinking excessively during my 1st to 2 months of pregnancy but it never affected my baby. The most important thing here is to take action of living healthy while you are pregnant. Take multi-vit specially made for pregnant women and drink anmum!

If it was few drinks and if you're still young it may not hurt your baby. I tried this too, i was even puking because I was too drunk and didn't know I was pregnant. To cover up my mistakes I drank the recommended vitamins religiously, drink milk high in folic acid and when the baby went out, he was healthy and bouncing. You shouldn't drink again though or smoke.

It's too early to say but an ounce of prevention is better than none. If you say that its just a few drinks then so be it. But I would suggest that you stop drinking while you are pregnant. It will definitely hurt your baby. Though I've heard from several mothers that they drank hard liquor during the early days of pregnancy and their babies were just fine. But lets not go to this, instead be concern to have a healthy baby.

If you stop drinking now. There won't be anything to worry about. Before finding out that I was pregnant, I was engaged in a heavy independence day party and took much more alcohol than I normally do. With my one year old baby, I think she's pretty ok. As long as you take care of your diet for the rest of the pregnancy. You're pretty good to go. Though studies show that even small amounts of alcohol have effects on the baby. That's why it is advisable to make up for it once you do find out you are pregnant. So eat as healthy as you can from now on.
