Is Some Pregnancy Bleeding Normal?
I got through my first trimester with now pregnancy bleeding. Now that I am halfway through my second trimester, I have had a small amount of red blood. I am not having any cramps or pains, just random spotting. My next appointment isn't for another week and I don't know if I should call my doctor or if I'm overreacting. Is a little pregnancy bleeding normal halfway through the pregnancy?

Minimal spotting is normal. No need to be worried unless there is lots of blood. Normally if there are any complications, you would be experiencing cramps and stomach pains. The spotting is normal right up until the middle of your third trimester. If you experience excessive bleeding past that point you should definitely contact your doctor and have he/she take a look.

No! bleeding is NEVER normal during pregnancy! Even if minimal and no discomfort...you should always let your physician know. Bleeding could be signs of placenta previa (where the placenta begins to detach from the uterine wall) and can lead to abortion. Can also be signs of fetal distress or even if it turns out to be menstrual in nature it can lead to complications in pregnancy because of levels of hormones may not be adequate to sustain a pregnancy.

spotting and bleeds aren't really anything to worry about unless they are like a proper period or if they are accompanied by pain and cramps, in which case you should see your Dr straight away. As for halfway through pregnancy, then this should have stopped. Make an early appointment to ensure that things are well with baby.

WHILE BLEEDING DURING THE FIRST TRIMESTER ARE SUPPOSED TO BE NORMAL, I DON'T THINK HAVING IT ON THE 2ND TRIMESTER IS STILL NORMAL THOUGH I'VE HEARD OF SOME WOMEN THAT DOES HAVE IT. THIS IS ASIDE FROM THE FACT THAT IT'S RED BLOOD THOUGH AS YOU SAY NOT REALLY THAT HEAVY. FROM MY THREE PREGNANCIES, I'D SUGGEST THAT YOU CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR AND NOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT VISIT SCHEDULE. THE EARLIER IT'S DIAGNOSED THE BETTER.
