Relief From Pregnancy Constipation?
|
I am plagued with chronic pregnancy constipation. My stomach is bloated and aches almost constantly. I've been eating fiber-rich foods and drinking a lot of water, but it hasn't helped too much. Is there anything else that is safe for my baby, but will help with my pregnancy constipation?

Monday 1st of March 2010 06:34:43 PM try soaking a handful of apricots in orange juice overnight and then eating them in the morning and drinking the juice. Califig which is available from the chemist is made from figs and should be ok to take - but do ask. Prune juice on an empty tummy will do the trick, and if not, a glass of hot water and honey first thing also does the trick.

Thursday 4th of March 2010 01:43:50 PM What about trying prunes and prune juice? They helped me alot. Also magnesia, if you can stand the liquid, but the solid block is cheap and the pharmacies and is better because it is chalky. Magnesia is safe and did not affect me negatively at all. And it is cheap, so you cannot lose.

Wednesday 3rd of March 2010 04:42:31 AM Constipation during pregnancy is quite normal and nothing to worry. If food to alleviate constipation doesn't help, you can take glycerin suppositeries . It is safe as it is not a medication and will not affect the foetus in any way.take one in the morning, and the effect will be seen within half an hour.

Friday 12th of March 2010 04:34:34 AM THAT IS JUST NORMAL BECAUSE OF THE GROWING BABY AND YOUR INTESTINE AS THEY ARE CLOSE TO ONE ANOTHER. APART FROM FIBER RICH FOODS AND A LOT OF WATER, DON'T FORGET TO EAT MORE FRUITS AND LEAFY VEGGIES. PAPAYA COULD HELP YOU MORE. ALSO, TRY TO RELAX AS STRESS IS ONE MAJOR CAUSE OF CONSTIPATION.
