|
This is my first pregnancy and I have a very low tolerance for pain. Are there medications that I can safely take during labor and delivery to lessen the pain of childbirth?

It is called epidural injection and it is make in your backbone.it is less painful then having a hard and painful delivery.of course if we are talking here about normal delivery.because if we are talkig about c-section then it is a totally diferent thing.
epidural wil help youout if you are not so good to bare the pain.

Monday 15th of February 2010 12:59:44 AM Nowadays, there are many options for pain relief during child birth. This is a topic that is best discussed with your doctor well before the delivery, so that you can both agree on the appropriate methods to use. You can have an epidural, which will greatly minimize the pain, or you could choose to have the delivery in water, which is also said to be very relaxing, and eases the birthing process. In order to handle the pain, prepare yourself as much as possible by taking birthing classes to practice breathing techniques. Get your husband involved as well, for massage and support. Nothing will completely take the pain away, but if you are well prepared, you will feel in control, and this will greatly enhance a positive experience.

Tuesday 16th of February 2010 11:08:13 AM You cannot take any un-prescribed meds to start with. The pain is inevitable to child birth. As long as you don't have other health problems like heart diseases you will have to face a normal delivery and normal interval contractions during labor. Don't worry about the pain, it'll pass and it's included in the beauty of motherhood. When you feel all of it, you'll love your child more when you see them out in the world. There's painless labor though, talk to your OB about painless childbirth. I think it's more expensive than the normal delivery.

Wednesday 17th of February 2010 05:58:11 AM Doctors do give certain painkillers during the extremely painful atages of labor and alos medications whihc make the mother relax during this stage mentally and not get tensed up. A lot has to do on your own mental build up and you have to teach your mind to cope with what is happening to you. if you feel that the painis unbearable it will be unbearable but if you tell yourself that it is not so bad after all you will be able to go through it more easily. However, do not imagine the worst and get yourself into a state even before you face labor, remember that if it was all that bad women would not go in for it time and time again.

Wednesday 17th of February 2010 05:59:05 AM Now there's many ways to ease the pain of childbirth journal: epidoral; injection, etc., but only soothes and in some cases, these same drugs take the forces we need to give birth. In my opinion one of the best methods for delivery is with the water in the shower with very hot water, relieves pain and helps the baby to be born. Try to find out if your hospital has this method and seek advice and gave the doctor

Nicole A. Tucker, Lic. LCC Thursday 9th of February 2012 04:20:24 PM Are you open to safe, alternative methods such as Aromatherapy? If so, then look into The Birth Support Kit - http://site.mawebcenters.com/wholecreations/birthprofessionalprods.html

Sunday 14th of February 2010 09:15:24 AM I guess it depends if you are going for a home birth (natural all the way...) or if you prefer to deliver in a hospital. If you are going to a hospital to have your baby your midwife should be able to inform you exactly what type of pain relief methods are available at that hospital. Sure there will be gas & air or epidurals available when it all becomes too painful. These methods have been safely used by many many women worldwide.

Monday 1st of March 2010 01:53:25 PM There are many ways to ease pain. There are many kinds of medication used by doctors to help you during labor and delivery. Commonly used by doctors are epidural and spinal blocks but you need to make arrangement with your doctor ahead of time. Epidural is used during labor while spinal blocks is injected during labor within two hours prior to delivery.
