I am 8 months pregnant. My gums have become very sensitive & bleed quite abnormally, anytime of day . This is happening over last some days of my pregnancy. What precautions should i take? I have already stopped brushing my teeth.

MBW Friday 19th of February 2010 05:46:53 PM I would not encourage you to stop brushing your teeth. While sensitive gums and bleeding is a normal symptom of pregnancy, it sounds like your case is more pronounced than normal. I would suggest calling your OB/GYN and/or your dentist and getting suggestions from directly from them. Perhaps using a tooth brush (or simply your finger) along with a tooth paste made for sensitive gums will help. Obviously, avoid the gum area as much as possible.

Friday 26th of February 2010 07:28:15 PM Don't stop brushing your teeth! Apart from the massive acid damage that can be caused by food, there is the strong possibility of decay and losing teeth like this. Bleeding is normal - infact my first pregnancy symptom was bleeding gums. Visit your dentist who will show you how to care for your teeth.

Thursday 4th of March 2010 07:02:06 AM It is a natural pregnant dinars have problems during your pregnancy does not happen to all pregnant women but it happens to some. The important thing is to go to the dentist, tell him how much time you are pregnant, taking any medicine if you have a healthy pregnancy or if there is any complication and it will help you with this problem. Do not leave for later, because dental health is very important for both the mother and the baby.
