I am eighteen & had unprotected sex last month. I am already feeling as if i am pregnant? The home pregnancy test kit shows negative. Should i confirm it with a blood test?

Tuesday 2nd of March 2010 03:39:05 AM Actually, blood tests do not confirm whether one person is pregnant or not. If you are pregnant, the blood test will only show that you have lots of red blood cells, exceeding the normal range compared to your white blood cells. It is due to the formation of a baby inside you. But if you are not pregnant it will just show a normal rang count of RBC. But there are also other factors needed to consider before you settle on this diagnosis. Going for a pregnancy test kit is much more reliable than a blood test. But these kits also have limitations. So for you to be sure, you must go to a maternity clinic or a diagnosis center where they provide pregnancy tests which are specifically conducted by medical technicians. That way, you will be more sure of the results.

Tuesday 9th of March 2010 02:42:53 AM The pregnancy test is very accurate if and when you used and follow the direction carefully. This is more effective if you had it during your first morning urine. Blood test is the same process of determining whether you are pregnant or not, except that blood is used of course. If you've done things correctly, but still not confident you can always do the blood test.

Thursday 25th of February 2010 07:05:00 PM It isn't normal practice to test pregnancy via a blood test - the usual port of call for pregnancy is to check via a urine test. It is advisable to wait at least 3 weeks after the first day of your last period to check whether you are pregnant.
