My sister is almost the same weight as you. Actually she got pregnant and was on her 3rd month before she realizes that she was pregnant. She's a healthy woman and never experienced any problem ever and even on her 1st and 2nd child. So I guess its the same thing as you except that you have to have a medical check up first.

I suggest that you do some exercise programs to burn your fats. Fat women are having difficulties in getting pregnant. And once women gets pregnant they gain weight. It is very difficult to carry the baby's weight with yours. So, definitely it is not safe for fat women to get pregnant.

Being fat is never healthy, pregnant or not. It is an added strain on the body and your heart. Backache is worse and blood pressure usually higher. It can also cause complications for mother during delivery, as labour is harder, longer and more inclined to need assistance. You should ideally lose about 30lbs or more depending on your height before trying for a baby. See your Dr and get advice from a nutritionist to make sure you lose weight healthily.

I personally don't think of 180 pounds as "fat" unless you are under 5'5". I would call it more "overweight." Yes, it would be healthier to lose some weight before pregnancy. If you are already trying to get pregnant, at least try to incorporate more exercise into your daily routine. Go for a 30-60 minute brisk walk every day. It will help you be healthier, and have a better pregnancy.
