I insist that you tell him now before he lives for his touring job. It will make his work more exciting and enjoyable. It will give him the urge and happiness while he do his work. Give him the total happiness and inspiration an expectant father duly deserve.

my advice is to tell him when he would be home to celebrate properly. This is a wonderful news which need to be celebrate as well. I remember my idea of celebrating this wonderful news with a champaign and sitting near the fireplace. leave it until your husband is home. Have an easy pregnancy and delivery too.

This is entirely up to you and the relationship between you and your husband. Some women would rather tell their partner face to face to see and get a reaction. Other women are quite happy to tell partners over the phone, especially when they know that they are not going to see them for a while. If you are anxious and need his support, then it is best to tell him as soon as possible.

This depends on the situation. If your husband is excited to have a baby, then, if I were you, I will tell him immediately. This will do magic to him. He will be excited and always inspired in doing his work. However, if you think that your husband is not excited to have a child, you should wait for him to return before telling him of your pregnancy.
