Buying A Gift For Daddy
I've seen moms get gifts from dads after delivery but not the other way around. Would it be okay for me to get him a surprise gift? Do you have any suggestions for something that is sentimental, but not too girly? I want it to be memorable. He has given me a precious gift and put up with my crazy needs throughout this pregnancy. Am I being too sappy?

I personally gave my man a gift after having my son - a bottle of my favourite aftershave! What you give is entirely up to you. If you want to give a sentimental gift, how about a framed and engraved photo of your baby and you? It is something personal and something for keeps. Or you could do a scrapbook of your baby and your family? Men don't do girly, but they do appreciate pictures.

I wouldn't in the world ever say you are - anything that makes Daddy feel appreciated and loved is good for him and your marriage. It's great and 'loveful' thinking. There are a lot of under less than $40 gifts you can get him. But I think by far the most important gift you could give him is to give your baby one of his names.

if you ask me the precious gift you can give to him is the baby himself/herself. Trust me,keeping his baby in his hands could more precious and memorable then any material object on this world. My husband told me that.No matter what gift I was trying to offer him, would be better the giving him a boy (now two.LOL)

Sappy it is but sweet. He put up with all your crazy things, he stood by you and supported you all the way. So this is the happiest moment in his life that he may want to remember. Thought the best gift an expectant Dad can have is the baby you are about to deliver so why not have yourself picture taken, blow-up while you are still pregnant. Make sure the bulge is showing.

No you are not being too sappy. In fact that is admirable on your part to think of the future Daddy. I think a great gift would be a heartshaped silver pocket token with his, yours and babys name inscribed on it, in additon to your new arrivals birthdate, birth wieght and birth length. Place it in his jacket or pants pocket, and everytime he places his hand in his pocket to pull it out, it will remain as a constant reminder of what he cherishes and holds dear.
