Is It Safe To Give My 4 Year Old A Neti Pot?

I have a 4 year old who has a cold complete with nasal congestion. When I get a stuffy nose, I tend to turn right away to my neti pot and I am wondering if its safe to give it to my child as well. How old does a child need to be to use a neti pot?
