Can A Child Suffering From Cystic Fibrosis Participate In Sports?

My 7 year old son has recently been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. He is much smaller than other children his age but he loves to play football. I don’t know if I should stop him or let him play. Will it make the condition worse?
