Can Conjunctivitis In Newborns Have Long Term Concerns?

I am suspecting my one week old daughter might have conjunctivitis. She is blinking more than usual and seems to keep touching her eyes. I am on the watch for any change in symptoms but I’m trying to stay on top of the situation. Can someone please offer some advice on dealing with the situation? Will it affect her eyesight in any way?
