Is Family Day Care A Profitable Business?

I am thinking about starting a day-care business now that all my children have left for college. I was thinking maybe I should start on a smaller scale and then expand it into a day-care centre. I just don’t want to end up with any financial problems at the end. Can anyone offer some advice about the profitability of a family day care centre?
