Are 12 Hours At Daycare Too Much For A Little Baby?
|
Im going back to work next month and my daughter is 9 months old. I will be working full time and my work hours aren't fixed. There are days I have to start as early as 7 in the morning and I dont get home till 7 in the evening. I have found a day care centre that operates until 7 30 in the evening but I m worried 12 hours is too long for a baby that little. Does anyone else have a baby going to daycare for that long?

Thursday 18th of March 2010 06:39:43 PM As a nurse, I work three 12 hour shifts a week, and once a month I pick up one extra 12 hour weekend shift. On the days that I work, my daughter is at daycare from 6:30am to 7:30pm. She has been going to daycare on this schedule since she was 6 months old and she is now 3 years old! She is a VERY intelligent child and has shown no adverse effects of attending daycare for a long period of time. It's all about finding a great provider that works with not only your child, but yourself!
