Are Baby-sitters Who Smoke A Bad Choice For The Job?
|
I have come across quite a few baby-sitters who have everything it takes to be good at the job. The only problem is they smoke and even though they specified they would never smoke around children I just can't convince myself to sign the agreement. Is it okay for them to step out for a smoke after they've put the children to bed?

Friday 7th of May 2010 01:16:50 AM Definitely yes, all of us are aware that babies are quite sensitive that they should not be exposed as second hand smoker. By hiring a smoking baby sitter, there is always a chance that they can be a second hand smoker. As far as I know, when somebody smokes, she or he must not immediately be near to a baby, since the pilferages of the smoke are still in their bodies. And, these usually takes few minutes to be present in the body.

Crystal Friday 15th of July 2011 08:25:33 PM Of course you should not seek a baby sitter that smokes. Every time she will hug your child, your child will breath in the smoke that is traped in her hair and cloths. Second Hand smoke causes cancer just like first hand smoke does. Aks your childs pedatrician for the risks. there are plenty of child care providers that have a smoke free environment. I should know I am an infant daycare provider!

Thursday 18th of March 2010 01:44:24 AM No, definitely baby sitter must not smoke at all times. We are aware that our baby will be third smoker if they will smoke. Nicotine cannot be removed easily, it is present in the hands and nostrils. If she happens to smoke then after 30 minutes she came back to look after with the baby. The toxic chemical is still with her. And it cab grasp by the baby which we all know will be harmful to them.
