What If A Child I Am Babysitting Chokes In The Absence Of His Parents?

Hi. I am looking aftr a 3 year old boy this weekend and this is my first ever baby-sitting task. I am worrying about the child choking in the absence of his parents. I don't really want to waste precious time trying my own tactics. Should I inform them right away or call the emergency services first and inform the parents once the situation is under control?
