Pain During Intimacy
|
I am still interested in sex, but I have found that intercourse is painful. I even had some spotting one time. Is there anything I can do to ease the discomfort during and after sex? Can I still use lubricants when I am pregnant?

Friday 19th of February 2010 09:17:49 AM See your midwife or Ob if you are bleeding during sex - it shouldn't hurt and shouldn't cause you problems. Some women find that their skin and private areas are more sensitive and become more sore due to increased hormone levels. Lubricants should not be a problem, but you should really get the all-clear from your ob first.

Wednesday 24th of February 2010 04:29:54 PM I guess lubricants are forbiden too, but I guess you can try some relaxing for you positions.
Maybe you feel a discomfort because you are not comfortable when doing it.
Try to ask your doctor what you can use to release this pain.I am sure he can help you more on this issue.

Saturday 27th of February 2010 10:54:18 PM You can use water-based lubricant during pregnancy. It is safe. However, it is best to consult your doctor when the intercourse is still painful, even with the use of lubricant.

Monday 1st of March 2010 01:53:41 AM There are lubricants available in any nearby drugstores. But doctors can recommend you prescription drugs that can aid to your painless intercourse. But the safest way is indeed using lubricants. There are different lubricants available in the market. Just choose which has no harmful chemicals, and that is mild for your sensitive area. There are also condoms that have lubricants and they are safe for you. It's up to you on which you would want to have for yourself. Good luck!

Saturday 6th of March 2010 04:50:10 AM KY Gel I believe is the safest lubricants but my suggestion is to ask your doctor first. Intercourse during pregnancy is actually just okay and also safe for the baby so there is no problem on that aspect. But if there is pain before and after intercourse then there must be some dryness or irritant you are experiencing. That is why I wanted you to consult the doctor first before doing anything else.
