How Can My Daughter Have Phenylketonuria If We Don't Have It?
My daughter's pediatrician says that she has Phenylketonuria. She said that it is a hereditary metabolic disorder and is easily treatable. I don't understand how it can be hereditary if neither my wife or I have it. How can something be hereditary if neither parent has the disorder?
