there are no scientifical dscoveries about this one.i have spent a lot of time in front my computer when I was pregnant.thanks God my baby is vey healthy and safe(except the fact he is totally mad about my mouse and keypad). I am not so sure about the influence that pc have on human in generaly, but try not to spend so many hours.3-4 hours is ok, not too much!

This won't have any effects on your kid. I was working when I was pregnant with my daughter and I was in front of my computer minimum of 7 hrs a day despite of that my baby is very healthy and smart too. Just make sure that you eat right and you get a good 8 hours of sleep.Rest as much as you can but don't be lazy. A good old 30 minute brisk walk is good for you and your kid unless you're doctor advised you not to do so.

I was told by my gyna that it has no effect if you sit behind a normal computer at a desk. However, if you are working with a laptop you should not place it on your legs or belly but keep it on your desk as the heat of the laptop is not good. He also mentioned men should not do this as this can be negative for the quality and quantity of their sperm as the bottom of the laptop gets warm the testicles get too warm and therefore reduces the quality of the sperm!

It will affect you only if you have physical problems related to working on the computer for 3-4 hours a day that will harm you and your baby. A really good book to have when you are pregnant is "What to Expect When You're Expecting," by Heidi Murkoff. Excellent reference guide for pregnant women.

It is quite safe to work on the computer. I did it all the time. The only thing is prolonged sitting may cause cramps so its a good idea to take a 5 minute break every hour or so.

Sitting in front of computers for quite a long time may hurt your back if you do not use the correct posture. It may also cramp your legs if you’re sitting with feet down differently. And to top it all, the monitor radiates some sort of a radiation. As we all know, radiation is bad for anyone, a given fact however, this is up to you to shield your stomach from any radiation. There are protective shields that can be installed in your monitor or probably use an apron (the one used by x-ray technician) over your stomach. It's how you will protect the baby inside you while you work.

I have never heard of a computer affecting pregnancy in any way. I worked on computers all through my pregnancies without any hassles. If you are worried though, it may be a good idea to discuss this matter with your doctor, just to put your concerns to rest. I really don't think you have anything to worry about.
