Can I Use A Douche While I'm Pregnant?
|
I am 14 weeks pregnant. I have an excessive amount of mucous discharge. My doctor says that it is normal, but it is really starting to bother me. Can I occasionally use a douche to clean up down there?

Sunday 7th of March 2010 06:27:33 AM Never use a douche when you are pregnant. It is really dangerous. It may be a good tool for cleaning but it may not be safe for your baby. Do not make use of much penetrating tools in your vaginal area without the advice of your doctor. Feminine wash is enough to do the cleaning. As long as the discharge is not due to infection, there is nothing to worry. Discharge is a part of your pregnancy changes due to hormonal fluctuations. Just use unscented panty liners for a healthier ph balance and at the same time you would lessen the feeling of wetness due to the discharge.

Tuesday 16th of March 2010 09:12:32 PM Yes, definitely. There are mild feminine wash suitable for pregnant women in groceries or nearby store. Just read properly the label otherwise you can ask your ob gyne about it. Your doctor is correct about that excessive amount of discharge during pregnancy is normal. You can bring sanitary pad with you so that when you feel akward down there you can change anytime.
