Bed Rest
My doctor has prescribed me bed rest for the duration of my pregnancy. I still have 6 weeks to go. At first it sounded great, but now that I've been doing it for a few days, I am starting to go nuts. Do you have any suggestions of how I can occupy my time?

I know the feeling and I perfectly understand your boredom and irritation being confine in bed. And we can't do anything about it until the baby is delivered. Just be content with your books and television. If you do crochet, knitting, sewing or cross stitch these will help you pass the time. Stitch something on your baby dresses, it's exciting to create something for the baby.

This is a very difficult time, but keep motivating yourself by remebering that it is for the health of your pregnancy. You should stock up on movies, books, and maybe even start a hobby. One way is to start a journal or online blog so you can rant and vent about how frustrating it is to do nothing.

I would read books on how things that will keep your interest. For example, books on how to loose your baby weight or how to keep the romance in your relationship. I would also get your laptop and put it in the bed with you. This way you can lay in bed and surf the net. I had a friend that took up knitting while she was on bed rest.

Apart from watching TV, how about reading a book or even writing a diary about your experiences? Many women find it relaxing as well as cathartic. Perhaps you could do something you have been meaning to such as sorting out pictures or even creating a scrapbook? Or you could be adventurous and try painting? If you know how to, you could knit something for the baby? There are lots of arts and crafts you can do whilst sitting comfortably.
