What Should I Pack
|
I am 35 weeks pregnant and I'm trying to prepare for my hospital stay. I have seen many lists of what I should have when I go to the hospital and they are all different. What are the bare essentials that I shouldn't leave home without?

Saturday 6th of March 2010 04:27:01 AM What are the basic when you go to a hospital? Identification and insurance card, robe, comfortable house dress which I suggest should be sleeveless for easy BP checking and opening in front for possible breast feeding, toiletries and slippers. Bring something that is only practical and will only be used anyway hospital provides this hospital gown. And of course for your baby, the shirt, nappy and wrap. That's just about it.

Monday 15th of February 2010 04:28:49 AM Well, the set varies on what you need and what you might want to bring to ease up your life. Of course bring a couple of sets of going home outfits for you and the baby. Don't forget a carseat! You wouldn't be able to bring baby out of the hospital if you don't have one. Then bring all the things that you would need for grooming yourself and the baby. Whatever amount of diapers (disposable or not) you need, bring double the amount. Bring an incredible amount of wet wipes, you're gonna need them.

Thursday 18th of February 2010 01:01:48 PM Make sure you take the obvious things like your toothbrush, hairbrush, shampoo and conditioner. You also want to take a night gown that buttons down the front. You also want to take a bath robe that ties in the front and a comfortable pair of socks. It would also be a good idea to take your laptop or some magazines. If your family members are going to have to wait in the waiting room you want them to be comfortable.

Thursday 18th of February 2010 05:12:44 PM For yourself, make sure you have your usual toiletries you need as well as 2 nursing bras, 2-3 pairs of maternity underwear, sanitary towels and breast pads. A night gown and feeding top if you are planning on breastfeeding is also useful.During labour, women complain of cold feet, so have warm socks, your birth plan and snacks and drinks. Also an old nightie is best for labour as it will be a mess once you are done and you will need a clean fresh one for when you have had the baby. After the birth you will shower, so make sure you have shower gel and shampoo, a comb and hairband. You will also need an outfit and a coat to go home in. For your baby, you will need: nappies, baby wipes, nappy bags, three vests, three babygrows, bibs, scratch mitts, blanket and an outfit and coat to take baby home in. Also make sure you have a hat and socks if its cold outside. Also ensure you have a baby seat, as this is a requirement by law.

Sunday 21st of February 2010 04:21:30 PM as from my personal experience it is important to have your personal things on you, the intimate one, even the shaver to be prepared for the moment. Then another important things will be the baby's clothes, diapers, 1-2 blankets, also 1 bottle for the milk or tea, if your milk delays to appear.
Also some dummies are good.if you are in the same town with the hospital you could ask your husband to bring some more.
