New Allergies
I have never had any allergies before. Now that I am pregnant, I get a rash when I touch latex. Is it possible to develop new allergies when you are pregnant? Will they go away after I deliver?

Though allergies are commonly considered to be a genetically predisposed condition, there have been cases where women have developed allergies during their pregnancies, when previously there were none. Known as pregnancy allergies, often these allergies go away some time after delivery. Whatever you do, discuss your concerns and treatment/prevention options with your physican.

It is very possible to develop new allergies when pregnant - some women find that some allergies disappear during this time, while others report that they get worse. More often than not these will disappear altogether a few months after the birth as hormone levels go back to normal and the body is no longer in 'defense' mode. Allergies are sometimes the body's way of keeping you away from something that may harm you. Listen to your body and hopefully things will get better once junior arrives.

My experience would say differently. I have this sensitive skin on wool and give me rashes at a short touch. My skin gets all red but no itchiness. I got this decade ago and when I got pregnant and gave birth I still have it and so with my daughters. Latex has the same principle. But one thing I would like to suggest is do not take any oral medicine on allergies while pregnant unless prescribed by your doctor.

Yes, there is always possibilities. I for one had this skin allergy on sand that I had this small red patches all over my body. I got scared and rushed myself to the hospital and was told to put on some ointment. I didn't follow the doctor instead I tired to avoid sand especially my son's sandbox. When I had my baby, tried it and waited for a few minutes and it never happen. Not once since then.
