Monday 15th of February 2010 12:20:10 AM Generally, it is safe. If you are stuck somewhere and need a bite to eat, go ahead. However, it is not advised to eat much more than you should. Fast food is loaded with saturated fats and unnecessary calories that you're pregnancy could go without. There are particular foods you shouldn't even touch like raw fish (like sushi), .
Make sure to eat folate-rich foods like a number of kinds of beans: kidney, lima even baked beans.
And our parents have been right from the start when they say to eat more fruits and vegetables. Pregnant ladies need more fiber than usual since constipation is a common pregnancy problem.

Sunday 14th of February 2010 11:59:02 PM One cannot say that it is unsafe to eat burgers and fast food, but, as you should do under normal circumstances, consume 'unhealthy foods' in moderation. Due to morning sickness, fatigue and cravings you may not be able to eat consistently, but try to include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Try to include some wholegrain products in your diet as well. Find out from your drug store or your doctor about a good pregnancy supplement. This can be important for certain substances, like iron and folic acid. While you should not eat excessively during pregnancy, it is important to maintain your strength.

Sunday 14th of February 2010 07:38:33 AM I would advise you to stay away from fast foods and burgers because not only are they unhealthy but also can cause acidity and other problems. Stick to healthy foods like green leafy vegetables, salads, whole grains, lentils, chicken and other such healthy choices. From a development perspective, this is an important period in your baby's life, so you need to make sure that you have a good and healthy diet. Also, ask your doctor and take a folic acid and calcium supplement as well!

Sunday 14th of February 2010 08:28:00 AM These types of food probably won't do you or the baby any direct harm, but they also want give the baby or you what you need during this intense period. I found that my body quickly indicated to me what to eat. For instance I craved for citrus fruit in the beginning of the pregnancy and could not stand garlic. Alcohol...even the smell of a glass of wine made me run to the toilet. And this was not just happening to me. Three of my friends were pregnant around the same time and we all experienced similar types of (strange) behaviour. I think mother nature has its ways of making clear to us pregnant women what the body needs. There are many lists of foods that you should and should not eat/ drink, but as long as your burger and other fast food stuff is not a daily habit, I think you can enjoy it once and a while when the craving becomes too stronge. Good luck!

Sunday 14th of February 2010 01:57:44 AM During my pregnancy I ate at KFC a lot, I don't think it will have a bad impact on your baby but everything has to come in moderation. It's not bad to eat fast food stuff if it's not something you do excessively.Ask your OB-GYN of supplements for you and your baby.I drank Anmum when I was pregnant and my Daughter is really smart and healthy.

Monday 1st of March 2010 07:53:25 AM When I got pregnant with my daughters, my mother-in-law used to buy a lot of fish and vegetables and cook it just for me. There is always healthy soup in front of me every time we have our meal. She said healthy soup will help me get through breast feeding which is what I really preferred. I’ve learned to cook and eat food without msg and fast food stuff has a lot of it. Msg for one is not good for us, much more for the baby. What’s healthy food for me ideal for pregnant women are those rich in vitamins such as green leafy food and fish.

Sunday 14th of February 2010 08:35:04 AM Well fast food is not good for you or for your baby. you should concentrate on eating healthy foods with a lot of fresh fruits, vegetables, milk, poultry, meats and eggs. Ensure that you have a balanced diet and avoid food which has a lot of salt content and is fatty.
