Insomnia
I have been having a very hard time sleeping. During waking hours I'm completely exhausted, but when I try to go to bed, I just can't fall asleep. Is there anything I can do to get some quality rest?

Well, instead of taking over-the-counter medicines, perhaps you could try some herbal remedies. Look for a homeopathic drug store and ask their opinion. If you are uncomfortable, try sleeping on a firmer mattress, and avoid lying on your back. Try some other relaxation techniques before going to bed, such as a hot bath, or reading a book.

There are several things you can do to ensure you get the rest you need. First and foremost, put yourself on a bedtime schedule - go to bed at the same time and set your alarm to rise at the same time everyday. About a week of this will get your body intuned to falling asleep and rising at a regular time. Second - avoid stimulating activities such as excercising, watching a stimulating movie, and drinking coffee right before bedtime. Third - make your bedroom as relaxing as possible. Infuse scents like sandalwood, chamomile, or lavendar in your room to calm your nerves. If extreme temperatures keep you awake, ensure that the temperature in the room is moderated. Fourth - do something that calms you before going to sleep. Turn off the television set and read a book while sipping on some decaffinated tea. Some even find having intercourse relaxes them as well. Five - once you actually lie down to sleep, take a couple of deep cleasning breaths through the nose w/ closed mouth, and relax all the muscles in your body. If thirty minutes go by without you being able to fall asleep, get out of bed, get a glass of water, read a book or write in a journal for 15 to 20 minutes and try again.

You need to ask yourself if you are worrying unnecessarily over anything or if there is something that is stressing you out. Deal with whatever it is and if you can't, write down what it is that is on your mind. Allocate a worry time when you stress over whatever it is, and then tell yourself you are not going to worry anymore. Eat well, and get your iron levels checked as anaemia can make you tired and also cause you to lose sleep. Drink hot milk in the evening, read a book, take a relaxing bath and then sprinkle lavender oil on your sheets to induce sleep. During the day, get out and walk as much as possible - there is nothing like fresh air to make you feel alert and the walking will tire you so that you sleep better. If the problem persists, see your Dr.

This are some normal symptoms in pregnancy.some sleepy periods and also some insomnia during some other period. What I can advice you is to drink a cup of hot milk before going to sleep. It will help to relaxed and become more sleepy. I used to do that and had some little success.

Sleeping is not just simply laying on your back, close your eyes and sleep. Being worried on something, being so so tired, being so stressed in work or another thing all boils down to finding it so hard to sleep. Try a nice cup of tea or hot milk, let out all your worries to be dealt for another day, clear your mind and sleep.
